Trip to Michigan in June

Nick's off to Cub Scout Day Camp

Fun Summer Day

This is a typical summer day at our home...lots of boys and lots of water! We use our inflatable water slide almost every day...

May 2008 End of School Year

Nolan and his good friend Austin

Friends

We had Connor and Tyler over for the weekend in May.....Nick would not get in the bath with the "Little" boys now that he is 9!!

Spring Break!!

Ok, Spring Break began last week and it's been a whirlwind!! We have been having so much fun, that none of us can see straight! Just in a week, we've had 2 sleepovers, friends over every day, a picnic, Chuck E Cheese, swimming, park day with friends, library, McDonald's, shopping, and Grandma Vicki has spoiled them too! I know I have forgotten a few things, oh yeah, almost forgot that they LOVE playing flag football. Maybe we'll take a nap tomorrow! It's been fun having them home, needless to say, my laundry is (still) piled to the ceiling from last week, house is in shambles, but we are having fun!! :)

The Sports Room!

Yes, I know the colors are crazy, but I started painting Nick and Nolan's room a couple of months ago and have finally finished it. As you can see by the colors, i did not take any advice from any decorators!.....But my Boys LOVE it!! We have Sports pictures framed thoughout the room. Dallas Cowboys, BYU, Green Bay Packers, Cardinals, D-backs, are just a few of Nick's favorite teams! So the room turned out Crazy! I'm just glad the boys like it! Oh and Nolan took this pic of me!!.....he is our little photographer!

Kristy came to town!

My sister Kristy came to town! It was her birthday. We got to spend some girl time together. We went hiking in Peralta Canyon! It was the most perfect day to hike!

Nick Is "9": Happy Birthday!

What a Blast! Each of the boys had their own "bowling shirts", because you can't have fun bowling unless you have one! Lucky Nick, he also had 2 birthday cakes. My friend Darcy gave me the recipe for the best Raspberry cake with pink Raspberry frosting! I don't really LOVE cake, but I LOVE this cake! I think I could eat it all by myself, yes, the entire cake in 1 sitting!! YUM! It's our Family Birthday cake! I make the same cake for all of our birthdays, that's how much we all like it!

Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet

We had our Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet on Feb. 6. It turned out so awesome. I think the boys had a blast. Each boy had to decorate their own cake with a jungle theme. It was so fun and Nick knew exactly what he wanted to do, without ANY help from mom, (except I helped him mix up the frosting colors with food coloring)....

Fun in the SNOW

We went up to the snow back in January! Needless to say, we froze!! None of us even own a pair of snow boots, so our feet were wet and frozen. Ty & I are both wearing our jackets from our college days when I lived in Michigan and he lived in Alaska!! Yes, our fashion is a little dated! The boys had a blast. They didn't want to leave, but I have become a wimp in cold weather since moving to AZ 8 years ago. The slightest breeze under 70 degrees makes me shiver!!

Merry Christmas!

What a wonderful Christmas we are having! It took Nick 2 hours to fall asleep last night and almost walked in on Santa wrapping presents!!! We think we saw Santa flying over our house last night, and Frosty even visited our home before bed and left us some snowman poop on our front porch. They were up at about 6:30 am, which is pretty good when you think of all the excitement that 4 little boys have! Electronics is "IT" now that the boys are getting older. Their favorite is "Guitar Hero" for the Playstation 2. Ted and Karen visited to see the presents and we actually have a few hours to just enjoy eachother....What a treat! I love Christmas and am so grateful for all of our millions of blessings. We can sure feel the love our Savior has for us! Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve Dinner With Grandma Vicki!

He already had our big family dinner with Ty's family, and my mom just arrived into town after a few months of being away. It's nice to see her again. I won't see her much, since she works almost full time for the Salvation Army, volunteering. She loves it. She is the most kind, giving, and generous person I know. I hope I can be just like her someday!! My boys adore her. We had a nice Turkey dinner that I made. I forgot the potatoes, (but we still had plenty of food)...who forgets potatoes with Turkey?? Needless to say we have a lot of gravy left over!

BYU Wins Las Vegas Bowl!!!!!!

What a great memory for Nick! He is 8 and the biggest football fan I know. He was able to take a fun little trip with Ty and a few buddies! Ty met up with a bunch of friends and they were able to be out on the field for the entire game. They stood in the end zone! They rushed the field at the end with all of the other crazy fans!!! I think he had the time of his life!

On Friday night we had our annual Ruddell Family Christmas Fishing. This is a favorite for the kids. Grandma puts up a cute fish sheet and the kids fish for presents! This night is almost as fun as the night when Santa really comes to our house!

School Christmas Parties

3 of my boys had Christmas parties at school. They did so many cute things. Nolan was so sad to have missed his... it is probably one of the funnest days of the year! I was able to visit all of their classes. I love spending time in the classes to see all of the great things they are learning.

Kids Christmas Nativity

Every Year we have so much fun at Ty's cousin's house with much of his family and all of the kids dress a part in the Nativity. I had 2 wise men and 2 shepherds! It is the cutest thing you have ever seen.

Mesa Arizona Temple Christmas Lights

Another Tradition we have is to bring our boys to the temple every year at Christmas to see the amazing lights! This is our 3rd (or 4th) annual trip with our great friends the Breinholts! Nobody can relate to our situation with having 4 boys better than they can! They just had their 4th boy this past summer.

I remember having 3 boys, thinking, I can do this, but it was that 4th boy that put me over the edge. You'd think I'd have boys figured out by now!! I'm the first to admit that I'm not a perfect mom! I try hard but seem to always fall short! Well, It's nice to have friends that understand!
We used to live right across the street from the Breinholts and miss them terribly. Our boys played together almost every day!

It gets a little crazy trying to watch 8 boys, in the dark, among hundreds of other people! Makes for a fun night....remind me not to go on a Sat

urday night next year! We went to SomeBurros for dinner...another one of my favorite places t
o eat!

8th Annual Ruddell Family Gingerbread House Party

Every year since Nick was born, we have decorated our gingerbread house! We have gotten to be experts. In the past mom has been the one doing most of the work, but this year I decided to let the do it ALL! Of course there were several times I wanted to step in when the icing was not neat and perfectly placed, but I didn't!! It's not the prettiest house you'll ever see, but definitely wins for "Most Unusual". The boys think it is perfect and so does Mom! I'm glad I took this picture because everday a few more candies mysteriously disappear from the house! It's lookin' pretty bleak now!

Ty had a Birthday TOO!!!

Ty and Nolan have birthday's only days apart. Our great friend, Rita, made the most delicious cake for Ty and brought it too him at his office! The boys couldn't stop eating it, neither could mom! We won't disclose Ty's age, but a hint is we didn't have enough candles to put on the cake!

Nolan's Birthday!!! He's 7

Nolan's favorite breakfast is pancakes, so before school we put candles in his pancakes! He was so excited to have a birthday and feel so special. That night we had a cake and presents, but the real fun was his party on Friday! The party was supposed to be at the big park across from our house, but it rained the entire day! Figures that it hasn't rained in months and now we get inches all in one day! There were 20 boys coming and we had so many fun games planned "OUTSIDE" at the park.....so Plan B, we had all of the boys inside and had games and movies, with popcorn and dinner. The boys still had a blast. Boys are good that way. They just like to hang out and play with their friends. It was a "little" crazy and I'm glad it's over, and next time I'll have to pray harder that it doesn't rain!!!

Our New Puppy

We have a new Puppy!! She is like a little stuffed animal! She absolutely LOVES the boys! She's 8 weeks old and is already doing pretty good at potty training!
We Love Allie!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a blast at our house! This is a picture of some of the cousins....some left before we got the camera out! They rode ATV's in the backyard!
This is my favorite time of the year. I love the food, the non-stop activities and just spending time with my boys! I'm so grateful for my family. They make me crazy most of the time, but how boring would life be if I wasn't a little looney! It's true!
Thanksgiving was pretty easy this year considering that I didn't have to make a turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes or gravy!!!....what else is there. Well, I love to bake, so I got to do a lot of that. The boys' favorite is pumpkin pie, so I think I need to make another one this week, since they inhaled the first one.
I think i ate a whole apple pie by myself....oops, forgot to count those calories! Better get on the treadmill.
Oh, yeah, I ran the turkey trot this year with some friends. I ran for 1 hour 11 seconds.....6.2 miles. No, I didn't "win" as my kids asked, but I did OK considering I really haven't been running as much as I was. I LOVE to run....I didn't used to, but now in my old age, I have come to crave it! It's weird how life is! Anyhow, i love, love, love my family and am so grateful for them. They make me who I am, since, THEY ARE my life!

Ty is the BEST handyman!

Ty is Mr. Handyman! He taught the boys how to use a tractor!! What a stud!

Halloween

Halloween! Too much candy...of course the boys love it! Need I say more?

Grandpa Terry and Grandma Linda in Arizona!!

We had a blast while they were here! We went bowling, to 3 of Nick's baseball games and Nolan and Garrett's soccer game in 4 days!! They usually visit 1 time a year and it is so nice for the boys to see them!
We love you Grandpa Terry and Grandma Linda.

A Hard Day At The Beach!!!

I can't think of a better way to spend the day.....playing so hard on the beach in California that you collapse in a lounge chair for a little NAP!!!

Tanner

Nolan

Nick

Garrett

We went to La Jolla Cove and took a walk. It is so beautiful there. We got to see the seals on the beach.

Silly Boys

We got a boogie board at Walmart and brought a few sand toys and this is what we did for 3 Days! The weather was mild about 68 degrees. I love it and could LIVE on the beach!

We went to California over Fall Break from school. It was SOOO fun. It was a last minute plan and ended up being a blast! We stayed in a hotel near Oceanside beach and went to the beach for 3 days.

This picture was taken in 2006 when my dad came to visit with Linda. They have been married now for 3 years. I sure miss my family, but it's nice when they visit! What a great dad I have! I'm sooo blessed! I've learned that I need to take way more pictures from now on.....so watch out, you will see me with a camera with me everywhere I go!!!

This is Grandma Karen and Nolan in 2005. This is also from their mission in Utah. Grandma and Grandpa are sure awesome. We love to use their pool in the summer. This was taken before "Roxy" (the dog) became Karen's favorite grandchild!!! Karen, I'm not allowing you to run from the camera anymore, this is my most recent picture I can find......shame on me!!

This is my wonderful MOM!! This was taken when Tanner was a couple months old...over 2 years ago. She lives in Michigan but has a house here in Arizona also!! My boys can't get enough of Grandma Vicki! We love her!

This is one of my favorite pictures of Ty and his Dad. This was taken in 2005 in Utah where Ty's parents served a mission! What a great example Ted is to his grandsons!

This is an old picture that was taken 2 1/2 years ago when Tanner was just a couple days old. That's my sister! She lives in Michigan. I usually see her about once a year! I miss her. My boys adore her!

Swimming in our Backyard

No, we do not have a pool. Not for a couple more years. We have a blow up water slide that we have used all summer! What a great investment. In Arizona, you need to always be wet in the summer to survive! Yes, it's the middle of October and still nice enough to swim. My kids get cold very easily. Anything below 100 degrees and you need a jacket here!!!!

Tanner Loves "Roxy". He is so gentle with her. She is so tiny it always makes me a little nervous when she comes over because I'm afraid I'll squash her with one step! With all of the boys around she had learned to stay off the ground at my house. She's so cute when she props herself up on the back of the couch! Tanner just adores her!

Fun on Fall Break with the Cousins

We have had so much fun for the last 1 1/2 weeks on fall break. On Monday our cousins from Payson came over and the boys have been having a blast! I don't care what anyone says, there's nothing like having 4 boys together all of the time, and them being so close in age, there is an energy that can't be matched. Then you get 6 boys together, There is nothing but ENERGY! I LOVE IT! There is nothing more fun in life than watching a bunch of boys just play football, soccer, baseball, wrestle together, fight eachother, non-stop. My only wish is that I had about half of their energy! Keeping up with them 24/7 is the challenge I face on a daily basis. Everyone always says they grow up SO FAST, so I'm trying my hardest to enjoy it (but when someone has a bloody nose, skinned knee, etc, every 5 minutes, it can get a little crazy!) The one thing that I've learned about boys is that they are so competitive. It's funny how when I have girls over to play, that competitive energy lessens soooo much. I wouldn't change it for the world. Everyone always asks me if I wish I had a girl. I can honestly say "NO". My own hormones are enough for one family to have to deal with! Boys are so Easy-going. That's me. I'm not at all into all of the "frills" and girly stuff that girls do. I never have been. I've always been into sports and fun! I'm not one for jewelry and fluff! Maybe that's why I was blessed with ALL BOYS!
I've decided to use this blog as my journal and just TYPE away with the things I'm thinking! So bear with me!

Tanner is So Cute

Cutie Pie!

Fall in Arizona

On Sunday, we took a bike ride to the park. The air smells like Fall. The sky is so clear and there is a wonderful breeze! I am so happy that the next 7 months will be like this! I'm so excited! Our little Tanner is so fun. He is almost 2 1/2 already! He just does everything that his brothers teach you. He is pretty tough and doesn't take much from his 3 older brothers! I think he is going to be bigger than all of them someday! He sure has the appetite already!

Little Monkeys

It is really impossible to get them all smiling at the same time....here is a great example!

Tanner had SOOO much fun searching for his favorite pumpkin. He is building his vocabulary and says "Puh kin".

It is my favorite time of the year! The boys got to go to a pumpkin patch in Mesa. They went on hayrides, through mazes, and painted pumpkins. What a fun day!

The Ruddell Clan

These sweet faces are my EVERYTHING! I am so blessed to have a husband who is THE BEST DAD! What a JOB it is to raise 4 boys to be great young men! They have a wonderful example in their father!

Tanner will be 2 years old in a week!

EASTER 2007

Darin & Candice had such a fun Easter party at their house! My boys had a blast. They had a petting zoo at their house (only for the day):)
Tanner is an animal lover and could not get enough of them!
All of the kids, I don't know how many maybe 25?? jumped in the pool with their clothes on. The weather is pretty nice already in April for swimming!!!

THE RUDDELL BLOG

I am new to blogging, but I think it would be cool to journal our family happenings on the web!!

This picture was taken last June, I guess it's almost time to get an updated family picture taken.
